Interview with Brinton Gunderson
Skiboarding Lifestyle: What is your skiboard model of choice and why?
Brinton Gunderson: "To tell you the truth, I haven't ridden every board
out there, but of what I have ridden, the Mike Nick boards have been the best. They were just made well. When you talk to Jason, he really knows his stuff. He's a Research and Design crazy man. I haven't had
a chance to ride the new Salomons or the new K2's yet either, but they have a lot to stand up to."
SL: What events do you plan on competing in this
season?
BG: "All of them... Well i wish I could go to all of them.
Hopefully if everything works out I will be going on
the full USS tour with Rick Starks from Anywhere
Sports, and Fox Sports XStv. And definetely the
X-games. I didn't do well at them at all last year.
But it was my first year in that event, and it was
definetly an eye opener."
SL: Where do you see the sport of skiboarding in the future?
BG: "I think Skiboarding will move to longer boards. Something under the 130 cm but over 100 cm. We are just needing to go faster, more stable, and go bigger."
SL: What was it like starring in one of the first skiboard films ever, TPKD?
BG: "I was super stoked to get to do some filming with Kieser, and Boomer. We had the best day up at Brighton, Utah, me, Micha, and Bryce, and a great time."
SL: What do you think of skiboard companies going to 95+ lengths for
skiboards? Is it better or worse?
BG: "That is definetly better. I rode some 125's a while back and I really liked them. Especially for quarter pipe, and sloppy spring riding days. I hope some of the companies will really get into the longer boards."
SL: Do you plan on being in the next skiboard film produced by Frontside Inc. Films?
BG: "Yea, of course... those guys are so rad. I hope next year i can go to some of those crazy places. I'm super jealous of them going to Japan without me. But ya know. Oh well. Next year maybe I'll be cruizin with
them."
SL: What is your favorite mountain to ride at? Why?
BG: "Well, I would have to say that Whistler is probably the raddest place I have ridden, but the parks and stuff weren't even open, so I'm sure in the winter it's better then what I got to ride. So yea, whistler."
